Bridge Laborer (296149-841)

Performs the duties involved with the maintenance repair activities surrounding the Maintenance of Bridge functions. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's safety policies and applicable laws. Works with direction from the Bridge Foreman and/or General Manager.
Performs day-to-day activities of a bridge crew
Unloads and/or assists in unloading and distribution of materials (rail, ties, spikes, etc.)
Corrects deviations in bridge surface, aligns and gage
Installs and repairs wood tussles and wood structures
Operates tools such as rail saw, track wrench, spike maul, tie adz, and claw bar as needed
Must have knowledge of Roadway Worker Protection Regulations
Must be familiar with the FRA fall protection regulations as well as G&W's internal policy regarding bridge safety

Required Experience
Education Required or Equivalent Experience: High School Diploma or GED
Related Experience Required: 2 years work experience
Related Experience Preferred: Experience with heavy hand tools; previous work experience outdoors
Registration / Certification Required or Preferred: CDL preferred, or ability to get CDL within 90 days of hire
Must have a valid driver's license

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
